The Pennsylvania chapter of the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) is holding an educational meeting on Wednesday, November 10th in Williamsport. The meeting will run from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at the Genetti Hotel, 200 West Fourth Street.
This event should not be missed by families who have signed (or may sign) leases for shale gas production on their land. Attorney Dale Tice, of Marshall, Parker & Associates will be discussing the things that landowners need to know before signing a pipeline lease. Other presenters include Jackie Root, President of NARO-PA, Tom Murphy of Penn State's Marcellus Center for Outreach and Research, and Lester Greevy. The cost of the program is $20, with no charge for NARO members.
NARO is an organization that provides support, education, and advocacy for Royalty Owners. Its hard to imagine why a landowner with gas interests would not join this excellent group. I had the pleasure of attending the NARO annual convention that was held recently in Pittsburgh. The sharing of knowledge and ideas was outstanding. But as important, I think, was the mutual support. Long time NARO members from Texas and Oklahoma even pledged financial support to help their brothers and sisters in the Marcellus region get organized. Landowners don't need to face the big oil & gas companies alone - NARO is on your side.
So, I urge landowners to attend the upcoming NARO educational event on November 10th. Not only will you learn a lot, you will have the opportunity to get to know the members of the NARO-PA group that "has your back." Maybe you will take the opportunity to join NARO. I'll be there. I hope to see you.
